Powering Pelham’s Future
Affordability. Reliability. Service.
These three principles guide every decision I make on behalf of Pelham residents who receive electricity service from Hydro One and Niagara Peninsula Energy.
Reliability
Affordable electricity means little without dependable service.
Pelham residents deserve an electrical system that delivers fewer outages, fewer power interruptions, and improved power quality.
A strong example is the work completed in Fenwick. For more than three years, I worked with Hydro One and raised concerns with the Ontario Energy Board regarding long-standing voltage imbalance issues affecting residents and businesses. This advocacy resulted in Hydro One completing a major upgrade to the Pelham Centre Distribution Station west of E.L. Crossley Secondary School in 2023, significantly improving reliability and power quality in the area.
I will continue working with Hydro One, NPEI, the Ontario Energy Board, our MPP, Council, and Town staff to address challenges and improve electrical service throughout Pelham.
Service
Residents deserve responsive, accountable service from the organizations they rely on.
I believe in collaboration, open communication, and holding service providers accountable. Whether addressing outages, billing concerns, infrastructure needs, or future energy challenges, residents deserve to know their concerns are being heard and acted upon.
My Commitment
I will continue to advocate for:
✓ Fairer and more affordable electricity delivery costs.
✓ Improved reliability with fewer outages and power quality issues.
✓ Responsive customer service and greater accountability.
✓ A stronger role for Niagara Peninsula Energy as Pelham’s locally owned electricity distributor.
My mission is simple: Affordability. Reliability. Service.
Because Pelham residents deserve an electricity system that is fair, dependable, and accountable.
Affordability
Every resident deserves fair and equitable electricity costs. I will continue advocating for lower delivery costs and ensuring Pelham customers are treated fairly.
A top priority is restoring Hydro One’s classification for Pelham customers from Medium Density back to Urban High Density. When this change occurred in January 2011, thousands of Pelham residents saw increased delivery charges through no fault of their own.
Since becoming Pelham’s representative on utility matters, I have worked with Hydro One, the Ontario Energy Board, and provincial partners to address this issue. After years of advocacy, we are closer than ever to correcting this inequity and reducing delivery costs for many Hydro One customers.
I also support expanding the role of Niagara Peninsula Energy (NPEI), our municipally owned local electricity distributor, in Pelham. A stronger local utility presence would provide greater local accountability, consistent service, and a more unified approach for our community.
